When someone looks at my work they ask me, why I paint or draw in this fashion. What inspires me? What does this mean? For me, it’s all about the process. For each image or set of images, I start with a set of rules. These rules might be about specific color palettes, numbers of lines or shapes or other abstract constructs I might place on myself to strive for in creating an image. I, then, follow my rules taking notes on them until the completion of the work. When I am tempted to break a rule, I save the temptation for future work but sometimes I decide to break the rule and then begin a new process with a new set of rules. My work is highly detailed and shows my passion for color, texture and line. I strive to give the viewer something to grab onto - a detail, a shape, or a color to dive into and become delighted in and enjoy.
