Before I made these playful absurd drawings, I was working a great deal in black oil pastel on paper. These were a chance for me to get back into color while playing with the texture from the oil pastel work. These are oddities from my brain - some look a bit topographical in nature - kinda brainscapes and some look more like blobs of color monsters. Here I started with a form and then using line intuitively reacting to the shapes laid down while scratching away at the thicker oil pastel to give texture to the forms.
